A Guide to the Nine Tapping Points

Where they are, how to tap them, and what each one is for.

27 August 2026

Every CoaCalm session moves through the same nine points, in the same order. They sit along the hands, the face and the upper body, places that are easy to reach and easy to find.

You never need to memorize them. The session audio tells you which point comes next, and the guide inside the app shows each one whenever you want a refresher.

Here is the full sequence, with a short demonstration for every point.

1. Side of Hand

The soft outer edge of your hand, between the little finger and the wrist. Tap with two or three fingers of your other hand, light and steady, about two taps a second. Often used to settle resistance and open a round before the sequence begins.

2. Inner Eyebrow

The inner end of your eyebrow, where it meets the bridge of your nose. Tap with two fingertips. One side is enough, though both feel natural to some people. Frequently described as easing the braced, tight feeling around the eyes and forehead.

3. Outer Eye

On the bone at the outer corner of your eye, not on the soft temple. Tap with two fingertips, firm but gentle. Often reported as releasing held tension across the temples and jaw.

4. Under Eye

On the bone directly under your eye, in line with the pupil. Tap with two fingertips, very lightly. The skin here is thin. Commonly linked with worry and unease settling as the round continues.

5. Under Nose

In the small space between the base of your nose and your upper lip. Tap with one or two fingertips. Often described as a steadying point, useful when emotion rises mid-round.

6. Chin

In the crease between your lower lip and the point of your chin. Tap with one or two fingertips. Frequently reported as softening self doubt and the urge to hold back.

7. Collarbone

Just below the collarbone, about an inch out from the center of your chest. Tap with the fingertips of one hand, or use both hands on both sides. Often described as opening the breath and slowing the chest.

8. Under Arm

About four inches below the armpit, on the side of your torso. Tap with the flat fingertips of your opposite hand. Commonly reported as easing a knot in the stomach or a sense of dread.

9. Top of Head

The crown of your head, at the very top. Tap with four fingertips together, in a small circle. Often used to close a round, described as a settling of busy thoughts.

That's the whole sequence. If you're new, open the guide from any session preview and follow along once or twice. After a few sessions the order starts to feel automatic, and you can let the audio carry you.
